The Houston Texans are in a decent spot to make the playoffs this week but they need some help. The Texans are currently 8-7 and would have loved to have won one of those tight losses from earlier in the year. The Texans-Patriots game may be a little tough to handicap because it’s unclear what the Patriots plan is on offense. They have said that they plan to play their starters for a period of time but there is a very good chance that they don’t play much more than a series.

The Texans haven’t exactly been a team to trust – even in a situation as easy as this. Keep in mind that they struggled to beat the St. Louis Rams a couple of weeks ago. The Texans will likely play hard, win and cover only to find out that the Ravens and Jets have held serve. This is a hard luck team that won’t be going to the playoffs one way or another this year.
