The #2 ranked Texas Longhorns take on the #1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2010 BCS Championship game on Thursday January 7th and there will be several hundred million dollars wagered on the big game. After the way the Tide dominated the Florida Gators the sportsbooks are seeing a lot of action on Alabama Thursday. Most top online sportsbooks currently have the Crimson Tide favored to win the game by 4 points. This means that they need to win by 5 or more points to cover the point spread.
The posted game total for this game is sitting still at 46 points with equal money coming in on both sides of the total. Both of these teams are very solid defensively so I’m amazed that more people are not picking the game to go under the posted total. This will be the toughest defense that Colt McCoy and the Longhorns offense have had to face this season. How the Longhorns are not favored in this game will remain a mystery until the big BCS Championship game is over.
