New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers 2010 NFL Playoff Predictions

New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers NFL Playoff Predictions

AFC Divisional Playoffs

New York Jets @ San Diego Chargers

5Dimes Odds (5Dimes Reviews): Chargers -7.5

NFL Betting Total: 42

The New York Jets Super Bowl odds are still the longest among the teams remaining the playoffs and considering they are the biggest underdog on the week, it’s no surprise. The Jets will have a tall task this week as they head to San Diego. The Chargers have won 11 straight games and are the hottest teams heading into the playoffs. The Chargers had a slow start to the season but under Norv Turner, that has been a consistent. They’ve had a bad month in September, then turned it up a notch after that month.

Jets vs. Chargers 2010 NFL Playoff Predictions

Meanwhile, the Jets have been far from predictable. They started 3-0, then lost six of their next seven games, then won six of their final seven games to qualify for the playoffs. The Jets have a number of good parts on their team that make you believe that they are a Super Bowl contender. They have the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL and they have the No. 1 defense in the league. But as they head to San Diego this week, they are still faced with plenty of skepticism.

With a rookie quarterback in Mark Sanchez, not many people are putting faith in them. Sure, the Jets rolled up the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks in a row but this is a completely different animal. The Bengals had only one real passing weapon in Chad Ochocinco, who was blanketed by Darrelle Revis, whereas the Chargers have several weapons. The Chargers are going to keep an eye on Revis this week but they have lots of weapons to rely on. If he blankets Vincent Jackson, then Philip Rivers will look for Antonio Gates, or Malcolm Floyd, or Darren Sproles out of the backfield.

On defense, the boiling point of the game this weekend will be whether the Chargers can slow down the Jets running game. If they can, they’ll be in good position to win this contest because the Jets are not a passing team. If not, the Jets will be able to control the ball and control the clock. Since the Jets are so predictable and since the Chargers are so good on offense, expect that to play out that way. The Chargers, who are rested, will roll at home.

If you are looking for New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers NFL Playoff Predictions and NFL Betting Picks take the Chargers -7.5.
