Even though the Florida vs LSU betting odds are the talk of the online betting world this weekend, there’s still some NFL action on Sunday if you’re up for it. Atlanta heads out west for a meeting with San Francisco, who may be missing the most important part of their offense.

The Falcons are coming off a bye week after losing 26-10 in New England, and Atlanta were soundly beaten on both sides of the ball. Matt Ryan was 17-of-28 for 199 yards and the Falcons gained only 257 yards, while allowing 445 yards to the Patriots, including 168 on the ground. Michael Turner ran for only 56 yards, but he did find the end zone for the Falcons. However, it surely was a long two weeks for Atlanta, and they must be eager to get back on the field.

The 49ers routed St. Louis 35-0 at home, as they got touchdowns from the offense, defense and special teams. Patrick Willis was a one-man wrecking crew and showed why he’s one of the sportsbook favorites for Defensive Player of the Year, posting eight tackles, 2.5 sacks, and an interception that was ran back 23 yards for a score. Glen Coffee ran for 74 yards while replacing the injured Frank Gore, and San Francisco may need a similar performance this week.

San Francisco is a 2.5-point favorite according to handicapping software, and even though Atlanta’s last trip to Candlestick Park was in 2004, they’ve lost nine of 10 in San Francisco. It looks like Gore will be out for a few weeks, so Coffee needs to step up this week because Shaun Hill isn’t the type of quarterback who is going to throw 40 times for 300 yards to get you a victory. Under Mike Singletary, the 49ers are all about ball control and defense, and Willis and company have been playing with the passion their head coach was famous for in his playing days. It’ll be another rough day for the Falcons as the 49ers should be one of your NFL picks this weekend.
