Blazers Trade Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw for Marcus Camby
Blazers Trade Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw for Marcus Camby
An insider source confirmed an NBA Trade rumor that sends Portland Trail Blazers Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw to the Clippers for Marcus Camby. Portland supposedly also had to send cash along with those tow players for Marcus Camby. With the NBA trade deadline looming this is just one of the several trades that will take place over the next two days.
This NBA Trade by the Blazers takes care of a big problem that they had at the middle position since Juwan Howard has been anything but consistent. Marcus Camby is one of the best rebounders in the entire NBA so this move helps Portland a lot. Camby has averaged 12.1 rebounds per game which is actually the second best in the NBA. This may just be a short term fix for the Blazers though since all three players in this trade have their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
The exact trade details for the Blazers-Clippers trade will not be released until likely Thursday afternoon. While nothing is set in stone the Blazers trade will have an immediate impact on the team if it goes through. Marcus Camby will turn 36 next month so his time to help the Blazers might be limited as his contract expires at the end of this season. Marcus Camby should definitely be happy about the Blazers trade that sends him to Portland because the Clippers, well, are a very bad team.
The Clippers actually are in Portland to play the Blazers Tuesday night. The Odds-makers have Portland -6.5 over the Clippers tonight. The posted total for the game is just 193.5 points.
