Winter Olympics Schedule Vancouver 2010
The 2010 Winter Olympics Schedule has something exciting for every day of the two weeks of competition. While weather delays are possible for alpine skiing events, the Olympic coordinators are optimistic.
Week 1 of the Winter Olympics Schedule Vancouver 2010 is heavy on alpine skiing, with events taking place Monday Feb. 15 through Sunday Feb. 21 and beyond. Biathlon events will take place Tuesday the 16th, Thursday the 18th, and Sunday the 21. Luge competition will start and finish in week 1, with events on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17. Snowboarding will be a big part of the first week’s schedule, with events taking place Monday through Thursday. Speed skating also has events on Monday through Thursday.
The second week of the Winter Olympics Schedule Vancouver 2010 finishes up the events of week 1, and the pace of the other events speeds up as competition intensifies. Cross-country skiing has events Monday, Feb. 22, and also Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can get your fix of freestyle skiing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Feb. 23-25, and you can watch short track competition finish up on Wednesday Feb. 24 and Friday, Feb. 26. Snowboarding fans can watch the competition wrap up on Friday and Saturday, the 26th and 27th.
Britain is making a special effort to bring home some medals to the UK from Vancouver. In Turin in 2006, Britain took home only one medal and they hope to bring home three in 2010 in an effort to inspire pride in the host country for the 2012 summer games, which will take place in London.
