2010 NFL Combine Results
The 2010 NFL Combine results are in and there were a few standouts and there were also those that did not perform as well as expected.The shuffle now begins to see which players improved their prospects in the draft and who may have hurt themselves. The Combine always has a few surprises and this year was no different. With the attention on the quarterbacks, including Tim Tebow, there were those top prospects that were unable to participate due to injuries. Alabama LB Rolando McCain could not do any of the drills due to an injured hamstring. His teammate, Javier Arenas slightly pulled his hamstring during the 40-yard dash and could not complete the drills.
The teams were able to take a look at the many defensive backs during their on field drills this week. Defensive backs, Taylor Mays and Eric Berry performed as hoped. Mays did have the best time for defensive backs in the 40 yard dash with 4.43 seconds, placing him ninth overall. Brandon Ghee and Eric Berry also posted impressive times for the dash. Mitch Petrus, the offensive lineman from Arkansas performed 45 reps that tied the combine record and Jeffrey Owens did 44 reps. Sean Weatherspoon broke into the top 15 in the bench press and with Donald Bulter, they were the only non lineman in this group. Weatherspoon had great 2010 NFL Combine Results as he finished high in the vertical jump, dash and 60 yard shuttle.
Now all of the scouts will need to evaluate what they saw and what they did not see in all of those that participated. For those that did not have a stellar performance, they will be able to redeem themselves at their respective school’s pro days later this month. Many of the scouts will probably be reviewing college tapes for a variety of players to see if their weaknesses in the 2010 NFL Combine results will affect their standings in the upcoming draft.
