Anquan Boldin To Baltimore
Anquan Boldin To Baltimore
The Arizona Cardinals have lost Anquan Boldin to Baltimore during the free agency draft on Friday. Arizona got a third and fourth round pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Ravens get a top-rated, wide receiver, as they currently have not had a receiver that has stood out. The four-year deal from the Ravens will give Boldin $28 million and $10 million of this will be guaranteed.
Anquan Boldin has five seasons where he obtained 1,000 yards receiving. Last season he had 1,024 yards, with 84 receptions. Prior to this deal, he was going to make $3 million next year with Arizona, which was the last year of his contract from 2005. He has been to the Pro Bowl three times, and it seems it is just what the Ravens have been looking for. The Ravens had only one receiver, Derrick Mason, who had more than 1000 yards receiving, and the player with the most receptions was the running back Ray Rice.
Two of Baltimore’s wide receivers are free agents this year, and it is uncertain if they will be returning to the team. Boldin, along with Donte Stallworth, which the Raven’s signed last month, makes the loss of their two wide receivers not as important. He has had some injuries over the years and last year did not play in the playoff games due to injuries. Anquan Boldin to Baltimore will bring his ability to catch those difficult passes as well as being able to utilize his excellent blocking skills.
