Ron Artest Hair Statement
Ron Artest Hair Statement
The statement of the Ron Artest hair design says everything about defense. The design incorporates the usage of the word defense in three different languages. It took his barber, Boogie three hours to create the bright yellow color and an hour to carve the letters. The new haircut did not seem to have a huge impact on yesterday’s game as the Lakers fell to the Orlando Magic by a score of 96-94. This is the third game in a row that the Lakers have lost. They lost to both Miami and Charlotte and this current losing streak is the first one since February of 2008.
Many have compared the Ron Artest hair style to the days of Dennis Rodman. His yellow color with the purple inscription of defense in Hebrew, Hindi and Japanese did not seem to give him the defense he was looking for. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said that he did struggle on the court and he was not able to get shots in and his defense created unnecessary foul shots for Vince Carter. Kobe Bryant seems to think that the team has gotten better and played more intensely since their losses to Miami and Charlotte.
The Lakers now have a record of 46-18 and are looking to keep the momentum of their play into the last 18 games of the season. Vince Carter scored 25 points with 13 of those being free throws. Dwight Howard had 16 rebounds and 15 points to help the Magic get the win. Carter missed his final free throw, which gave the Lakers a chance to win. Kobe Bryant, who scored 34 points failed to get his 20 foot jump shot to go in. With the review of Kobe Bryant’s 3 point shot being reduced to two, almost made the game tied with 12.9 seconds left. The Lakers did play a much more aggressive game, so perhaps the Ron Artest hair style helped just a little bit.
