ACC Tournament Bracket 2010

The ACC Tournament Bracket 2010 was released yesterday, and it has the Duke Blue Devils holding one of the top seeds. This comes after Duke had a resounding win over the University of North Carolina this past weekend by a score of 82-50. The tournament will run from Thursday, March 11 until Sunday, March 14. In addition to the brackets being announced the ACC, also named Coach Gary Williams, of the Maryland Terrapins as coach of the year. The award, which is based on votes from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association selected Williams based on bringing his team to share the regular-season title from the ACC.

Duke is probably one of the favorites to win the championship of the ACC Tournament Bracket 2010, and will play their first game in the quarterfinals on this Friday. The match ups for tomorrow include Boston College playing Virginia, Wake Forest playing Miami, Georgia Tech versus North Carolina and Clemson going up against North Carolina State. On Friday, we will see the winners of those games go up against Duke, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Florida State. Duke will be going for its second ACC tournament win, as they defeated Florida State last year.

The winner of the ACC Tournament Bracket 2010 is automatically guaranteed a bid to the NCAA. Virginia Tech is probably looking to improve its positioning for the NCAA tournament as they are probably already positioned for the brackets. It may very well come down to Maryland playing Duke for the tournament championship, which could be an exciting finish for the newly named ACC player of the year, Greivis Vasquez.
