The Big 12 Tournament schedule started yesterday as we saw the first round begin. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, as the top two teams will play in the final. Whoever wins that game is guaranteed to go on to the NCAA tournament. On Wednesday, we saw Colorado take on Texas Tech with Texas Tech winning the game. Missouri played Nebraska and Nebraska came out on top. In the battle between the Oklahoma teams, Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma. The last game of the evening saw Texas versus Iowa State and Texas came out the winner. The upset of the night was last-place Nebraska, beating Missouri by a score of 75-60.
Today’s games include Texas Tech taking on Kansas this morning and Texas A&M playing Nebraska this afternoon. Tonight will be Kansas State playing Oklahoma State and Baylor versus Texas to cap off the evening. Texas A&M will want to make sure that they did not take for granted a win over Nebraska. The Aggies are rather confident as they won the last of their three games and have a 22-8 overall record and are 11-5 in conference play. Nebraska has never won during the Big 12 Tournament Schedule and is hoping that their momentum will lead them to victory
Texas Tech has fallen to Kansas University by a score of 80-68, giving the number one team its 2000th win, making it the third team do this. Kansas will meet the winner of the Texas A&M and Nebraska game in the Friday semi finals. It seems as though the only way that Texas Tech would have made it to the NCAA tournament was if they had been able to win the title during the Big 12 Tournament schedule. They will most likely go on to the NIT tournament.
