Brady Quinn Picked Up By Denver

The Denver Broncos have picked up 25-year-old Brady Quinn from the Cleveland Browns. The Broncos gave up fullback Peyton Hillis and a sixth round draft pick for 2011 as well as a conditional draft choice for 2012. The deal will not be complete until the physicals are performed. This may give the former Brown quarterback a new beginning after his dismal performance for Cleveland, which drafted him in 2007. He started for Cleveland 12 times, won three games, and lost nine.

The announcement came right after Cleveland signed former Panther quarterback Jake Delhomme to a two-year contract. There has been no confirmation whether or not Brady Quinn will start for Denver, although he will be competing with Kyle Orton for the starting position. Quinn lost his starting job to Derek Anderson last season. The move was not entirely surprising as Cleveland also signed backup quarterback Seneca Wallace from the Seattle Seahawks, in addition to the Delhomme signing.

Denver was looking to pick up someone to give Orton competition, as they did not get into the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. Orton started the season with six wins and two losses, but failed to keep up that momentum with a 2-6 finish to the season. Brady Quinn, the former Notre Dame standout will be looking to get it clean start with the Broncos and may even perhaps get that starting job back.
