NCAA Bracket Update 2010: Gonzaga Moves On To Second Round

Gonzaga University won their game against Florida State during first round play. They won the game with a score of 67-60 with the help of Gonzaga’s Matt Bouldin. He was able to score 17 points and had eight rebounds. In other first round action, New Mexico State University was unable to beat Michigan State and lost by three points. Michigan State’s win was on the heels of Kalin Lucas’s 25 points.

NCAA Bracket Update 2010: Gonzaga Moves On To Second Round and will be playing the number one seed Syracuse University during the second round of March Madness action. Syracuse is anticipated to win this game, however Gonzaga can certainly be a spoiler for their championship hopes. Syracuse was able to beat Vermont in their first-round action. It was back in 2005 that Vermont was able to upset Syracuse.  However, Syracuse was able to take an early 24-point lead and won easily over the Vermont team. Syracuse is hoping that they can keep their momentum going in their second round game with Gonzaga University. After being plagued with injuries, Syracuse is looking to be able to make it to the Final Four. The Gonzaga team had a 27-6 record this year and will be led by senior Matt Bouldin. Syracuse is still facing playing the tournament without their star center, Arinze Onuaku, who is still unable to play, due to an injury. They will be looking to Rick Jackson and Wes Johnson to pick up the slack. Syracuse will have to make sure that they put on their defensive display because an upset is certainly not out of the realm.
