Masters Golf Tournament 2010: Tiger at the Augusta National

Tiger Woods playing in the Masters Golf Tournament 2010 was no shock to the big followers of the PGA Tour and obviously, he was going to be cheered and heckled simultaneously. But, when Tiger took to the course at the Augusta National for his 1:42 PM EST Tee Time on Thursday, the cheers from the ground were possibly off set by someone’s idea of a pathetic joke. The banner in the air referenced Tiger’s problems of late  But his ability to draw a crowd of supporters will never be questioned.

Tiger Woods bolted out of the gate with a great start, a couple of pars and a birdie led to his best finish ever in the first round of this big Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National. He finished the day 4 under and trails the leader by two as day two gets underway. When Tiger hit the course on Thursday, he saw a myriad of low scores and wondered how that was possible. Then, he took a look at the course design and realized that between the tee markers being moved up and some of the pins being accessible on several holes, the low scores thus far in the day should have been expected. Tiger had to be grinning on the inside even as the hecklers tried to crash his day before he could even get started.

Today, round two gets underway with a bang as Tiger Woods will hit the course for a 10:35 AM Eastern Tee Time at the the Masters Golf Tournament 2010. After shooting his personal best on Thursday, it’s no wonder that the gallery following Tiger was more than 10 times the size of some of the other big name golfers from the days of ‘yore. Although Tiger was able to perform a personal best, not everyone received the warm greeting from the course that Tiger felt. Jim Furyk, along with five other players, failed to even break 80.
