Bret Michaels: Poison Frontman in Critical Condition
Celebrity Bret Michaels was rushed to hospital last night with a brain hemorrhage. The lead singer of Poison and star of Celebrity Apprentice and Rock of Love is listed in critical condition with bleeding at the base of his brain. He was rushed to hospital just a few weeks ago where he under went an emergency appendectomy. He has been under doctor’s supervision since that surgery.
Bret Michaels, who’s real name is Bret Michael Sychak, was born March 15, 1963. He grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. He formed the band Poison in 1983, which is one of the world’s top “glam rock” bands of all time. They have released many hit songs including “Every Rose has its Thorn”.
On April 22, 2010 he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital with what is reported as an excruciating headache, which turned out to be a brain hemorrhage. According to a source at the hospital Bret Michaels condition is “touch and go for the next several days while he is under intense observation”. Also complicating his condition is the fact that he is a type 1 diabetic, something he has suffered from since the age of six.
