Phillies Fan Tasered
Baseball is the biggest sport of the spring and summer season. In Philadelphia, the Philly’s were hosting the St. Louis Cardinals last night when the action started. The Cardinals were at bat when an attention-seeking fan showed up. Then, the attention shifted to the Phillies fan tasered on the field.
A 17-year-old Phillies fan was tasered wearing a Phillies National League Champions T-shirt and khaki shorts as he stormed the field. He was running through the outfield waving a white towel. As he attempted to elude security, a uniformed officer fired the taser at the fan and the young man fell to the ground. The whole scene wasn’t captured by the television cameras, but rest assured, the fans were uploading the Phillies fan tasered to YouTube almost as fast as it all happened.
While the youngster was quietly removed from the field, the Philadelphia police spokesperson indicated that an investigation was underway. Basically, the only question is if the Phillies fan tasered occurred in line with the departments regulations for use of the equipment. In addition to that, the Phillies spokesperson has indicated that the Phillies organization will investigate the incident as well. The young man’s name has not been released due to his age but he is being charged with criminal trespassing in addition to other offenses.
