NFL News: Safety Darren Sharper returning to Saints
The New Orleans Saints are planning a repeat performance as the Super Bowl Champions. And, with safety Darren Sharper returning to Saints for another season, this looks like one step in the right direction. The terms of his contract weren’t disclosed but they are said to be for only one season thus far. And, Sharper was sending text messages out to the media that he was happy to be returning to the Saints.
Sharper isn’t exactly a young guy either. However, maturity sure looks good on him. At 34, he intercepted nine passes and returned three for touchdowns. The fans should be proud to hear about safety Daren Sharper returning to Saints.
Although Sharper did talk with some other teams and was hoping to get a multi-year deal, he felt his position was compromised by the arthroscopic surgery he had on his knee after the Super Bowl. As soon as the deal about safety Darren Sharper returning to Saints line-up was sealed, he tweeted to his fans, “To the entire WHO-DAT Nation, guess what? I’M BAACKK!”. This will be fourteen seasons for Sharper in the NFL. That’s pretty impressive for a second round pick from William and Mary.
