Suns vs Lakers Odds: Lakers Take Game 1

As expected, the Lakers take game one in the Western Conference Finals. All the hype surrounding Kobe Bryant seemed to be in vain, until he broke out a forty point game which is the first time the Suns have allowed any individual a forty point game this year.  The Sun vs Lakers game was also suppose to favor the Suns in an uptempo high scoring game. Although this one seemed to be high scoring at 128-107 and uptempo, the Suns still couldn’t pull it out.

Who knows why the Suns didn’t make a point to capitalize on the fact that Bryant was wearing a flaming yellow monstrosity on his leg.  Regardless, Pau Gasol was able to add 21 points to go with Kobe’s 40 and send the Lakers into a seven game winning streak. Bryant was asked about his knee and why he didn’t just sit the Lakers vs Sun’s game one out. He did sit out most of the fourth quarter and if his intensity is any indication, he didn’t even like that short rest period.

Amare Stoudemire of the Suns had 23 points and Steve Nash, even with a swollen eye and six stitches tossed in 13 points and 13 assists. This was the playoff debut for Robin Lopez who started at center. The Suns put the Lakers out in 2006 and 2007 and revenge doesn’t appear to look real good on the Suns. The Lakers vs Suns Game Two is Wednesday night in the Staples Center.
