Soccer is not the only sport in high gear right now. The College World Series are underway and the fun is just getting started. Big rivalries are already getting started. UCLA beat Fullerton which was the game that put them in the World Series.
The games are huge, the opportunities loom even larger and the teams have to take advantage of any turn of luck. And, that’s what UCLA did, they were playing for an opportunity to play in the College World Series, and they took advantage of all the weaknesses that Fullerton put out there. Once UCLA managed to get the lead in the game, they just appeared to have the fever for the College World Series and were not going to be denied. Other teams fighting it out for a spot are making the news too; check out the Florida State and Miami games to see just how big this tournament is to these guys.
Just as UCLA and Fullerton battle it out almost every year for a spot in the College World Series, Florida State and Miami are destined to do the same. Miami has been part of the NCAA post season for a record 38 seasons with four National Championships to their name. Unfortunately, Miami is the only school among the big three in Florida that won’t be headed to Omaha this year. Is it possible that football isn’t the biggest sport in the state of Florida anymore?
