The Saints keep on rolling and are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, but they’ve shown chinks in the armor in recent weeks—chinks the Panthers could be in prime position to take advantage of. Can Carolina pull off the upset on Panthers vs Saints betting odds?

New Orleans has won every game this year, including Monday’s 35-27 win over Atlanta, but there is cause for concern. The Saints have given up 61 points in the last two weeks while getting pasted on the ground: Miami and Atlanta rushed for a combined for 283 yards and six touchdowns.
That’s very problematic with Carolina coming to town. The Panthers’ vaunted running game is finally in gear, and they’re averaging about 217 yards per game in their last three efforts. DeAngelo Williams and Jon Stewart are among the league’s finest runners, so when both are cooking even the best run defense will have problems.
However, the Panthers have won in spite of lackluster efforts by Jake Delhomme. In Carolina’s past two wins, the maligned quarterback averaged just 77 passing yards. He already has 15 turnovers this season, including 13 interceptions. Be wary of a great, ball-hawking secondary with your sports picks—New Orleans leads the NFL with 16 picks and five fumble recoveries, plus a whopping six touchdowns on “D.”
The Panthers haven’t been so hot on defense, allowing 23.7 points per game this season. They finally showed some playmaking ability last week, though, when Kurt Warner was picked off five times. Julius Peppers—often regarded as one of the league’s most overrated players—has six sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and touchdown in his last four games—three of which were Carolina wins. Most teams would gladly take any “overrated” player with those stats.
Carolina doesn’t have the defense to slow down New Orleans but, with a dominant running game, it can keep the Saints off the field more than usual. Look for the Panthers to run roughshod over the Saints but Delhomme to make a few turnovers. Take the Saints outright but the Panthers to cover on your NFL predictions.
