Landry Fields: New York Knicks
The NBA Draft last night produced some great moments and a few surprises, but for the most part, the draft went according to what most of the experts predicted. For the New York Knicks, a sprite twenty-one year old player topping in at 6’7″ was chosen as the 39th overall pick. Luckily for the Knicks, Landry has always been a great basketball player but has also been a good leader off the court as well. Hopefully he doesn’t lose his concentration once he hits the big apple.
Landry was recruited by Arizona coach Lute Olson and Gonzaga University too. Landry Fields made the decision to play for Trent Johnson at Stanford. His talent should serve him well and the Knicks should see some immediate action from him. Landry has made a name for himself as a positive, do-good player and hopefully he can retain that as he is destined to be a star in the NBA.
Landry Fields hopes to find Lebron James in New York when he arrives but last night, he was content with celebrating with his 15-year-old sister. Fields was the only player drafted from the Bay area and he is headed across the country to carry out his career on the court. He did get a chance to speak to the Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni and team president Donne Walsh. Landry should be making his first trip into New York in a few days to get acquainted with his new home town.
