New York Red Bulls: Thierry Henry
New York Red Bulls: Thierry Henry
The world of sports is buzzing with free agency basketball, hockey, the football draft and even, the World Cup Trophy which now belongs to Spain. In the meantime, the various teams in the Major Soccer League are working hard to pull in the best players in the world. Now that the World Cup has come to an end, the biggest and best players are in the hunt for a professional team to call home again. Moreover, The New York Red Bulls have been the teams fortunate enough to grab Thierry Henry.
By all accounts, Henry is considered a magnificent scorer. Now this big man plans to play several seasons in New York. This threat along with that of Juan Pablo Angel who is the captain of the team makes this team a huge problem for many teams. The New York Red Bulls already have the leagues second best scorer in Angel and now with Henry on their team, the MLS teams have to find a way to stop not one but two big scoring players.
Henry played for France in the World Cup in South Africa could be just what the team needs to compete one step above last years team. A second place finish in last year’s MLS was a taste of success and now Henry should be able to help them move into the top slot. Henry touts membership on the 1998 World Cup Championship team and the European Championship and UEFA Champions League winners. New York Red Bulls fans are already counting their chickens, sure hope they hatch at the right time.
