Penny Hardaway: Lebron James Miami Heat
Now that the world knows that Lebron is headed to the Heat, players are coming from everywhere to try and get in on some of the juice. Naturally the heat has their hands full with Lebron James, Chris Boys and Dwayne Wade too. Sports radio show “The Bottom Line Sports Show” indicated this morning that one more player was trying to cash in on the Lebron cash cow. Penny Hardaway, a former NBA star in his own time, indicated that he was interested in returning to the heat.
The Heat released him in December of 2007 and has been playing rec ball since that time. You may recall him most as the side kick to Shaquile O’Neal in Orlando from 1993 to 1999. He simply said that he didn’t feel like his career ended the way he wanted it to and would like to re-join the heat and the Lebron bunch. The Miami Heat have made no statements or indications that they are interested in Penny Hardaway but that doesn’t mean much.
Rarely does the fans know exactly what teams are planning. Just look at the hour long show last week on ESPN that gave the fans the go ahead from Lebron. The show lasted an hour and it took him less than 30 seconds to say he was headed to the heat. Therefore, just because the Heat hasn’t mentioned anything to the fans doesn’t mean they don’t have a plan of attack. Penny Hardaway is a great catch and he says that he is mentally and physically ready to play.
