Celebrity athletes tend to have some of the most painful personalities of any other celebrity. The athletes that have played for many years and garnered more attention than most prominent political figures. A quarterback is a quarterback, some just do it better than others. The Brett Favre press conference that everyone has been anxiously awaiting, was about as exciting as the ESPN special for Lebron.
The biggest piece of the conversation, albeit one sided, surrounded the fact that the guy is in pain. Other than that, we know this quarterback is also old. Sure, he has taken on record after record but no one really wanted him to un-retire for a third time to only talk about the various degrees of joint pain he suffers. The expectations for the Brett Favre press conference were obviously a bit higher than most expected.
Very few reporters turned out to hear him talk about pain and age. He is only 41 after all but football is a physical game. He says having teammates come to his home in Hattiesburg was part of the reason he decided to at least give football one more season of his life. This was just exactly what everyone expected, a salute of excuses from the Brett Favre press conference.
