Marlins Nationals Fight
Marlins Nationals Fight
Exactly when baseball players decided that bench clearing brawls make for big excitement during games is unclear. It is reasonably obvious how many of the altercations get started but with that comes the responsibility of those in charge to see that this behavior is put to a stop. The Marlins Nationals Fight was probably high on everyone’s agenda last night just because of the altercation previously.
In two days time, Nyjer Morgan not only took part of two on the field incidents, he basically started both of them. His own manager was issuing warnings before the game started but apparently no one was listening. The collision on Tuesday night came when Morgan ran through or over if you will the Marlins catcher Brett Hayes in extra inning. The Marlins had no intentions of letting the act go but chose to just out hit the Nationals and not envoke another Marlins Nationals fight kind of hitting.
The Marlins were up 14 to 3 in the first few innings and seemed content for that to be punishment enough for what Morgan had done to their catcher. However, Marlins pitcher Chris Volstad felt that Morgan needed one last reminder that his behavior was inappropriate. In the fourth inning, Volstad threw a pitch that was more than just inside, the ball actually went behind Morgan. Just like that, Morgan was on the mound throwing punches and the benches were empty after the Marlins Nationals fight that saw 26 players, coaches and managers ejected.
