2011 NFL Predictions: Pittsburgh Steelers 2011 Preview

One of the NFL football picks favorites to win the Super Bowl every season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are ready to make another deep run in the playoffs in 2011. This team and their players and fans always have high expectations, and with good reason. They have talent at almost every position on the field, and they know what it takes to win.

2011 NFL Predictions

When people think about the Steelers, they think about their hardnosed defense. In 2010, they led the league in rushing defense, surrendering only 63 yards per game, a tiny amount. Players like James Harrison, Troy Polamalu and seemingly scores of others show up in highlights every week, although recently have come under fire for some of their tactics as the league has come down hard on helmet to helmet hits and other fierce tactics.

Don’t underrate the offense as you go about planning your 2011 NFL football picks either. Ben Roethlisberger might not be Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but he’s one of the top tier QBs in the league, and he always seems to come up big when the team needs it.

He has plenty of weapons to work with too, starting with the running game and leading back Rashard Mendenhall. Then, when he drops back to pass, he can unleash a deep strike to the quick Mike Wallace and or count on the always dependable Hines Ward up the middle, giving him lots of places to go with the ball.

Fiery coach Mike Tomlin knows how to pull all the strings, and you know he’s itching for another crack at a Super Bowl title. Will the Steelers go all the way in 2011? Choose wisely with your NFL football picks for the season, because you never want to underrate or discount the Steelers.
