New Orleans -3 At Tampa Bay
The Saints are finally on the right track after picking up the first win of their season, and then resting with a bye week. Of course, it will take more than one win to get them back into contention. But with that monkey off their back, and with an extra week to prepare, they are going to head on into Tampa Bay and make a splash. Take Drew Brees and company to pile up the points in this one and outclass the Bucs en route to a wide victory.
At Houston -6 Baltimore
The Baltimore Ravens ended the season for the Houston Texans last season in the playoffs. In this game, the Ravens are coming off a lucky, close home win against the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texans suffered through first loss of the season, a thumping at the hands of Green Bay. Houston fires on all cylinders for the rematch, in addition to last weekend’s loss, while Baltimore is too banged up to stop them on defense. Nevertheless, they won’t get blown out, so take Baltimore to beat the spread and keep matters close.
At NY Giants -6.5 Washington
Last season, the Washington Redskins swept the New York Giants. Things are different for both here, of course, with RGIII at the helm for Washington, and New York in defending champion mode. The Giants are looking very strong right now after the road win at San Francisco, but their trademark is playing down, and playing tight in divisional games. Take Washington to beat the spread here and provide some headaches for New York, and be on upset alert as well in this match.
At New England -10.5 NY Jets
New England has been surprisingly inconsistent and uneven so far in 2012. They’re coming off a loss on the road in Seattle, whereas the Jets are actually coming off a big home win to stop the bleeding for themselves. The Patriots are too good to lose at home, and to lose a second game in a row here. But New York will play their rivals tough. Take the Jets to beat the spread and be within a touchdown.
