USA vs Canada Gold Medal Game Time

The USA vs Canada gold medal game will be played today as one of the final events of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic games. It will be televised starting at 3:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time and should be one of the highest watched events of these Olympic games. The puck will officially drop at 3:15 pm ET. The USA team is still undefeated and Canada’s only loss is to the US. This will set up a revenge match between the two rivals hungry for the win. The USA just came off a high scoring game beating Finland 6-1 with all of their goals in the first period, while Canada won their game against Slovakia 3-2 during the semi-finals. You can bet on the USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game

The USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game Time is scheduled for the puck to drop at 3:15 pm ET. The US team is looking for the same quick start against the Canadians and are hoping that goalie, Ryan Miller will continue his awesome play as he has blocked 98 of the 103 shots at the net. Canada is looking to regain some of their momentum, which they seemed to have lost during their match against Slovakia. Fans across Canada have been less than thrilled with their recent play and coaching decisions. Finland did take the bronze medal defeating Slovakia 5-3.

Today’s game leads up to the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics and will be a great rematch between these two teams. The USA is still currently atop the overall medal count but Canada does lead in the total number of gold medals. Canada will certainly be looking to add to their record breaking gold medals with a win over the US. We should see hard hitting action and an intensity of play that will make this USA vs Canada gold medal game one that you will not want to miss.

Check out the USA vs. Canada Gold Medal Game odds and see if you can predict the winner before the puck drops at 3:15 pm ET.

Apolo Ohno Disqualified

Posted by Mike Jackson

Apolo Ohno Disqualified

With Apolo Ohno disqualified in the short track speed skating 500 meter race, it ended his chances to win a gold medal in the event which he won in the last Olympics. He bumped into a Canadian skater, as he began his signature pass on the final turn. The slight contact by Ohno was reviewed by the skating officials, it was determined that he was disqualified and lost his chance for the silver medal. Charles Hamelin, the Canadian short track speed skater nearly lost his footing as he crossed the finish line to win the gold medal, which is the first for Canada.

Later on in the evening, Ohno helped his team to win the bronze medal in the 5000 m relay. This has given him one silver and two bronze medals during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, and adding to his overall Olympic count of eight medals. It is probable that Apolo has made the Vancouver games the last ones that he will be participating in. His Olympics in Vancouver have been marked with athletic abilities in near miss crashes, and incredible strategy as well as Ohno’s comments that perhaps the disqualification may be tinged with bit of favoritism towards the other Canadian short track skater.

As Apolo’s Olympic career comes to a close, there seems to be some new younger skaters coming up through the ranks. 21-year-old Katherine Reutter won the silver medal in the 1000 m race, which is the first time in 16 years that an American woman has won a medal in short track speed skating. The medals won last night by the short track team and by Reutter, pretty much assures that the United States will set their own new record for most  medals won during the Olympic Winter Games. Saturday we will see the potential for additional medals in the four-man bobsled and of course Sunday, the Americans are guaranteed a medal in the final round of men’s ice hockey against Canada.

Seeing  Apolo Ohno Disqualified actually made some people very happy if you bet against him. Check out all of the 2010 Winter Olympic Odds for the final two days of competition.

USA Finland Hockey 2010

Posted by Mike Jackson

USA Finland Hockey

The USA Finland hockey game was actually quite disappointing. The United States quickly scored six goals in the first and skated to the 6-1 win over Finland on Thursday. Finland’s only goal came in the final period after the US goaltender Ryan Miller skated off the ice for a well deserved rest. This is Miller’s second shutout during the Olympic hockey tournament.  Patrick Kane had two goals and Zach Parise, Paul Statsny, Erik Johnson and Ryan Malone, all had one goal each. The US men’s hockey team has posted a 5-0 record and will now play Canada in the gold-medal game on Sunday. You can bet on the USA-Canada Gold Medal Game online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

USA Finland Hockey 2010

Canada on the other hand, did not have as easy time of a time against Slovakia in their semifinal hockey game. The final score was 3-2, but Canada had a three nothing lead going into the last nine minutes the game before they began to give up the two goals. This gave the Slovakian team a shot in arm as they continually pounded the Canadian goal. The game came down to last few seconds with Slovakia threatening to tie the game. There are some concerns as to whether or not, Canada will be able to strengthen their defenses as well as be able to shore up its offense, as it has been a little bit out of sorts.

Finland and Slovakia will be playing for the bronze medal on Saturday, while the United States and Canada rest for their final match up that will be on Sunday. This will be probably one of the most watched hockey games as these two rivals meet again. Canada is certainly looking for revenge after their loss to the United States last week and hopefully the USA Finland hockey game will not make the Americans overconfident, as well as too reliant upon their successful goal tender.

Alvin Robertson Arrested

Alvin Robertson Arrested

Alvin Robertson arrested on a warrant issued by Texas authorities on Friday, February 26. Alvin Robertson, the former NBA All-Star and player for the San Antonio Spurs will be facing charges on sexual assault of a minor and sex trafficking. These charges are coming from allegations regarding a 14-year-old girl. The warrant also states that Robertson was part of a group of seven people that kidnapped and made the 14-year-old engage in prostitution as well as performing at a strip club.

NBA Basketball Picks

The former NBA player has also been accused of having sexual relations with the minor and was arrested late last night in Arkansas. The warrant stems from an incident occurring last April, when the 14-year-old told police that she had been kidnapped, as well as being forced to have sex with multiple men. She said she escaped while her abductor, Leslie Campell, was in a restroom. In addition, Alvin Robertson’s girlfriend was arrested on Friday as she has also been described as being part of the group and was charged with sex trafficking and forcing a minor to have sex.

Robertson was in the NBA for 10 years, beginning in 1984 when he started playing with the San Antonio Spurs. This is not the first time that Robertson, who is now 47 has had run-ins with the law. A former girlfriend had accused him of rape, which he later dropped those charges and he was also sentenced to three years in 2002 for a parole violation. He is also had several charges of domestic violence. During his NBA career, he is most noted for holding the record for the most deals in one season and he also is one of the four players to have a quadruple double in a single game. The Spurs have not made any comment about Alvin Robertson arrested and the pending charges, but many feel that he does not represent and is not affiliated with the San Antonio Spurs.

College Basketball Betting – BYU, New Mexico Predictions Saturday February 27

College Basketball Betting – BYU, New Mexico out for MWC crown

Sports betting players don’t really think about the Mountain West when it comes to March Madness, but there’s an interesting race going on out there, and the winner of the conference could be crowned on Saturday, when BYU hosts New Mexico, who sits in pole position in the MWC.

March Madness Picks

New Mexico vs BYU odds – Saturday, February 27, 4:00 PM ET

The No.10 Lobos (26-3, 12-2) almost got caught looking ahead to the Cougars, but they managed to come away with a 72-66 win at Colorado State, with Dairese Gary leading the way with 23 points, and Roman Martinez added 17 points and 12 boards for the Lobos, who shot just 36.8% from the field.  The Lobos won the rebounding battle by a score of 41-29, including 17-10 on the offensive glass, which helped them overcome 16 turnovers. Darington Hobson had 15 points and 10 boards, and he was 8-of-12 from the foul line.

This will be the end of a big week for the the No.13 Cougars (25-3, 10-2), who face San Diego State on Wednesday, and the Aztecs are also trying to claw their way back into the MWC picture. Last weekend, the Cougars thumped Wyoming 85-63 on the road, getting 22 points each from Jimmer Fredette and Tyler Haws. BYU committed just five turnovers while forcing 12 out of Wyoming, and they were an efficient 20-of-24 from the foul line while outrebounding Wyoming 37-28 and holding them to 40.5% from the field.

US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews) should favor BYU at home, and they had won 20 in a row at the Joyce Center ahead of Wednesday’s meeting with San Diego State. BYU will also be out to avenge a 76-72 loss at New Mexico on January 27th, and Gary again was the star with 25 points, including a nine-point run late in the game. Fredette had 27 points in the first meeting of the year between these two, and he’s looking to be the frontrunner for the MWC Player of the Year award. The Cougars will have to keep the Lobos off the boards, especially Hobson and Martinez, and then they’ll look to push the pace up the floor with Fredette. They’ll need other players to step up because Fredette will get a lot of attention. This could come from Haws, who had just seven points on 3-of-8 shooting. BYU will also look to be more aggressive as New Mexico went to the foul line 13 more times than the Cougars. The race in the Mountain West will be more interesting after BYU’s game with San Diego State, and it may reach a fever pitch after this game.

College basketball odds pick: BYU

NCAA Basketball Betting – Villanova vs Syracuse odds – Saturday February 27

Posted by Ty Parker

NCAA Basketball Betting – Big East titans clash on Saturday

College basketball betting players know all about the strength of the Big East, as they had three No.1 seeds last year, and they could have two this year. The top two teams in the country will square off on Saturday as Syracuse hosts Villanova, and the Wildcats will hope to have their slide stopped by then.

College Basketball Picks

Villanova vs Syracuse odds – Saturday, February 27, 9:00 PM ET

The No.7 Wildcats (22-4, 11-3 as of Wednesday) still have to host South Florida on Wednesday, and they’d be aiming to stop a losing streak at two games after dropping games against UConn and at Pitt. Scottie Reynolds had 20 points to lead the Wildcats at Pitt last Sunday, but only Corey Fisher reached double digits for Villanova, who lost this game at the foul line. The Wildcats had just 16 free-throw attempts, making 11, while the Panthers were 26-of-34 from the charity stripe and were much more aggressive than the Wildcats, which is rare.

The No.4 Orangemen (26-2, 13-2) rebounded from a loss against Louisville with wins at Georgetown and Providence, and against Providence in a 99-85 win, they got a career-high 28 points from Rick Jackson, along with nine rebounds. Andy Rautins also had 28 points for the Orangemen, who outrebounded Providence 37-24, and they forced 15 turnovers. Syracuse had the edge as both teams had great shooting nights, as the Orangemen shot 55.6%, while the Friars shot 51.5%. Wes Johnson, who has moved into the Player of the Year running, played 40 minutes for the third game in four outings, and even though he had just 10 points, Johnson added seven rebounds, four assists, five steals and three blocks.  US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews) didn’t acknowledge Johnson, a transfer, at the beginning of the season, but players know who he is now.

Syracuse should be favored at home in this contest, but it’s not like the Wildcats are afraid to go the Carrier Dome, as they’ve split their last 10 trips there. Syracuse gets the edge on Saturday, because they have an extra day to recover from their game, and they’ll be at home. Unless the Wildcats blow South Florida out, they’ll have to play their main players on the floor a lot, and that’s another edge that the Orangemen have in this contest: depth. The production really drops off for Villanova outside of Reynolds and the other starts, while Syracuse is balanced and has at least three players that can win a game by themselves. With Johnson struggling on the offensive end, the Orangemen should try to get some more looks for Kris Joseph, who has been lost in the attention paid to join.

Olympic Medal Standings 2010

Posted by Mike Jackson

Olympic Medal Standings 2010

At the end of the day on Thursday, February 25 we still saw the United States leading the Olympic medal standings with Germany in second place. The US Olympic team added to their overall medal count with the United States women’s Olympic hockey team earning the Silver medal in their 2-0 loss to Canada. Both the US and Canadian women’s hockey teams came into this game outscoring their opponents by more than 40 to 2, however yesterday’s game was an intensely fought battle with both goalies blocking some absolutely amazing shots, but the US just could not get past the Canadian goalie. You can bet on the Olympic Medal Standings 2010 online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

Olympic Medal Standings 2010

Adding to the medal count on Thursday for the United States was the gold medal for Bill Demong and the silver medal for Johnny Spillane in the individual Nordic combined event. This is the first time that the United States is ever meddled in this 10 km event, and most people that are familiar with the Nordic combined did not expect the US team to be able to medal in this event. Jeret Peterson also received a silver medal for the men’s aerials of freestyle skiing, adding to the overall medal count for the United States.

The current Olympic medal standings 2010 has the United States, leading with a total of 32 metals and Germany in second with 26, Norway has 19 and Canada in fourth place with 17 medals. We can expect the United States and Canada to add to their count as they play their final game today. As the Vancouver 2010 Olympics wind down to the closing ceremonies, it is expected that the United States will add to their overall medal count lead. This will be the first time that the United States has ever led the Olympic medal standings 2010 during the Winter games, except when the US has hosted the Winter games.

NBA Betting – Will Bosh be ready for meeting with James, Cavs on Friday?

Posted by Sean O'Connor

NBA Betting – Will Bosh be ready for meeting with James, Cavs on Friday?

Toronto is moving up the NBA odds ranks, thanks mostly in part to their great record at the Air Canada Center, which is quickly becoming one of the toughest places to play in the NBA. The Raptors will welcome LeBron James and Cleveland to town on Friday, and they’ll hope that their star is back from an injury.

Cavaliers vs Raptors odds – Friday, February 26, 7:00 PM ET

The Cavaliers will play in Boston on Thursday night before heading to Toronto, but they did manage to end a three-game losing skid on Tuesday with a 105-95 win over New Orleans at home, and for once, LeBron James didn’t dominate the Cavs, at least in scoring. James, along with Shaquille O’Neal, had 20 points, but they were two of six Cavaliers to reach double digits in that category. James steered the offense with 13 assists, and the Cavaliers are more dangerous when the scoring is shared. James is a brilliant passer, and we all know he can get to the basket whenever he wants because of his insane mix of size and quickness.

The Raptors will hope that Chris Bosh is back in the lineup on Wednesday for their game with Portland, and the All-Star missed the two previous games with an ankle injury. The Raptors’ last game was a 109-104 win over Washington on Saturday, and six players reached double figures, led by Jarrett Jack with 23 points, along with eight assists. Andrea  Bargnani had 18 points, six boards and four blocks for the Raptors, and he has improved immensely in his post defense. The Raptors shot 52.1% from the field, and they were 26-of-32 from the foul line, while the Wizards were only 12-of-18.

US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook review) should favor the Raptors at home, even though they’ve lost eight of their last 10 against the Cavaliers. The Raptors beat the Cavaliers 101-91 in their season opener at home on October 28th, despite a triple-double from James, as Bargnani poured in 28 points, while Bosh added 21 points and 16 boards. The Raptors were 21-7 at home ahead of Wednesday’s game against Portland, and Bosh could play sparingly in that game as the Trailblazers could be without Marcus Camby, who would draw the assignment of guarding Bosh, and the Raptors will try to get out to a big lead to get their star some more rest. The Cavaliers could be fatigued after what should be a war in Boston on Thursday night on national television, then they have to travel to Toronto, while the Raptors have been home since last Saturday and have been able to rest up.

NBA betting pick: Toronto

Olympic Hockey Semi Finals 2010

Olympic Men’s Hockey Semi Finals 2010

Today starts the Olympic hockey semi finals with the United States playing Finland and Canada playing Slovakia, and the winner of each game will be vying for the gold medal on Sunday and the losers will play for the bronze medal on Saturday. The undefeated United States has been playing extremely well, even though they have not been that efficient in clearing out in their own zone. This puts a lot more pressure on American goalie Ryan Miller, who has had to block many more shots than what might be necessary. This could open the door for Finland that could be a long shot in today’s game. Although Finland has not been playing very aggressively and will have to step up their game against the United States for chance to be able to win. You can bet on the Olympic Hockey Semi Finals 2010 online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

Olympic Hockey Semi Final

Slovakia is coming off of a four-game winning streak, having beaten Russia, Norway, Latvia and a surprising win over Sweden 4-3 and will have to make sure that they bring a hard-hitting game against the Canadians in order to be able to proceed to the gold medal round. The Canadian team which has a 7-1 record coming into the semi final and is hoping to be able to play the United States in the gold medal round and clinch double gold in both the men’s and women’s Olympic hockey events.

You can begin watching the semifinal matches starting today at 3 PM Eastern Standard Time, and at 9 PM this evening. These games should be one of the highest watched as the excitement builds between all four of these teams touring the Olympic hockey semi finals. Neither the United States nor Canada should discount the fact that both Slovakia and Finland, even though they are the underdogs, could be hungry enough to perform an upset. Anything can happen in the Olympic Men’s hockey semifinals 2010 in Vancouver.
