Dancing with the Stars Results

Posted by Mike Jackson

Many viewers were shocked by the Dancing with the Stars results from last night’s competition. Some people have even hinted that the results were somehow manipulated in order to keep Kate Gosselin still competing. Gosselin has generated a lot of attention that has helped to kept ratings up. She continues to be on the bottom of the scoring, as does former astronaut Buzz Aldrin. However, both of them are still in the competition having been saved by the public voting.

The other surprise of the Dancing With the Stars competition was the fact that actress Shannen Doherty was sent home. She said that she really did not think that dancing was her thing and she seemed to be okay that she was the one going home. The other shocker of the evening was former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson finished in the bottom two of the scoring. She had been doing relatively well up until that point of the competition. Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek continues to do very well and Nicole Scherzinger is still in first place with 53 points.

The Dancing With the Stars results were expected to be entirely different. Most likely Doherty and her partner were eliminated due to a much smaller fan base. Gosselin, who turned in one of the worst performances has a much larger fan base. Right now the Dancing With The Stars results come down to not only the performances but the public voting as well. It is anticipated that Buzz Aldrich will be the next contestant voted off the show unless the public continues to be sentimental about this 80-year-old hero.

NIT Championship 2010

Posted by Sean O'Connor

NIT Championship 2010

This year the NIT championship 2010 games have been filled with teams that normally would have gone to the NCAA tournament. Some of the teams included North Carolina, Texas Tech, UConn, Mississippi and North Carolina State. These teams did not get their NCAA bid and had to settle for the NIT championship. The North Carolina Tar Heels may not be in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament but they are in the NIT championship game. They will be playing the University of Dayton at Madison Square Gardens on Thursday night. You can bet on the NIT Championship 2010 game online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

NIT Championship 2010 Odds

The NIT championship 2010 started off with a field of 32 teams on the road to this tournament’s final four. North Carolina had to beat Rhode Island this past Tuesday and barely got the win with a score of 68-67. Dayton was able to beat Mississippi with a score of 68-63 and had to make five extremely important free throws in order to go on for the win.

Dayton was seeded third, North Carolina was seeded fourth for the NIT championship 2010 tournament and both had to beat number two seeds in order to move on to the final game. In order to reach the semi finals, Dayton had to beat number one Illinois which they did by a score of 77-71. North Carolina had to play the second seed UAB for them to advance to the semi finals and they did so by five points with the final score of 60-55. The NIT championship game will be televised on ESPN starting at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time on April 1.

Al Skinner Fired as Boston College Coach

Posted by Sean O'Connor

Al Skinner has been the head coach for Boston College for 13 years, which is a long time for any collegiate basketball coach. Even though the director of athletics, Gene DeFlippo, said it was by mutual decision, it still looked a lot like Al Skinner was fired. The school will buy out the remainder of his contract and it was disclosed that it should be for around $3 million. The decision came after Skinner had talked with St. John’s about filling their vacancy for head coach.

2010 Final Four Odds

The athletic director went on to say that change was good, and that the decision had been made last Wednesday but was kept hush-hush in order for Al Skinner to conduct a variety of interviews for other job positions. Skinner has had more wins at Boston College than anyone else, but one of the downfalls could be that he has been unable to increase attendance for the games. Skinner has not made any public comment on the situation with Boston College or outlining any of the other colleges that he may have talked with.

Assistant coach Pat Duquette has been designated the interim head coach. Boston College has received permission from several schools to begin discussions with several different potential replacements. Al Skinner posted a 247-165 record at Boston College and had seven NCAA bids for the tournaments. This year they lost during the first round of the ACC Tournament and had a lackluster 6-10 season in conference play during the season.

LPGA Golfer Michelle Wie Loses $90,000

LPGA Golfer Michelle Wie Loses $90,000

In an interesting turn of events during the appearance of Michelle Wie in the Kia Classic, the LPGA golfer was in second place before a controversial call regarding the grounding of her club in a hazard. What happened was her drive on the 11th hole found her ball in a shallow water hazard. She had one foot in the water, and the other on the rough and was able to chip the ball onto the rough. Officials decided to penalize her as they felt that she had intentionally grounded her club inside the hazard line. You can bet on the 2010 PGA Tour online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to kick start your account.

PGA Golf Odds

The rules state that unless a player is using the club to prevent falling, it is a penalty to do so. The officials penalized Michelle Wie two strokes that dropped her from second place to a tie for sixth place, as well as costing her around $90,000 in prize money. Wie stated that she was using the club to maintain her balance, but the officials were unwilling to budge on the call. This is not the first time that she has had difficulty with rule violations as she was disqualified in 2005 during an event for signing an incorrect scorecard. She also did this again in 2008.

Michelle Wie has had a topsy-turvy career so far. She has not necessarily lived up to her potential and as a teenager, had some difficulties with all the attention as well as being distracted by her overbearing parents. She left the tour for a period of time when she went to Stanford in 2007. She is now 20 years old and has begun to perform much better in the LPGA tour. She won her first professional event in November and was looking to make a run for it during the Kia Classic, before the penalties landed her in the tied for sixth place.

NCAA Final Four Schedule

Posted by Mike Jackson

NCAA Final Four Schedule

The NCAA Final Four schedule has been set, now that all of the rounds and regional games been completed. The fifth seed Butler University team was able to take out the number two seed Kansas State squad during the Western region finals, and number one seed Kentucky fell to second seed West Virginia during the Eastern regional finals. These two teams will now join Michigan State, and Duke, as they both won their respective games. You can bet on the entire NCAA Final Four Schedule online at Bodog.com and enjoy top notch service from an industry leading Sportsbook.

NCAA Final Four Odds

The NCAA Final Four schedule will resume on Saturday, April 3 with Michigan State going up against Butler and West Virginia playing Duke. The winners of these games will move on to the final NCAA Championship game. It is interesting to note that both Michigan State and Butler are both fifth seeds, while Duke is the remaining number one seed left in the tournament. They will be taking on the strong second seed West Virginia team. The games will be played in Indianapolis, which is the hometown of Butler University and should be filled with many of their fans to help give the team momentum to overtake Michigan State. After looking at the NCAA Final Four Schedule I like West Virginia and Butler to both play in the NCAA Championship game.

It was quite a battle between Tennessee and Michigan State in order to make the Final Four group. The two teams battled it out until Michigan State was able to go on top and win the game by a score of 70-69. Baylor had numerous missed opportunities during their game against Duke and could not catch up losing 78-71. The other interesting statistic of the Final Four groups is the fact that Butler University has the least losses out of all of the teams. They have lost four games from the season, while Duke has had five losses and West Virginia has had six. Michigan State has the most losses with eight. The Final Four 2010 teams are probably not interested in some of the statistics as they are looking to become the one team to go on to the NCAA Championship.

Check out the Experts 2010 Final Four Predictions and see who they predict to move to the NCAA Championship.

Final Four 2010: Duke Wins Over Baylor

Final Four 2010: Duke Wins Over Baylor

Duke has been able to advance to the Final Four 2010 with the win over Baylor. They did this with the help of junior, Nolan Smith and his career high 29 points. This will be the first time since 2004 that Duke has made it to the Final Four. The strong Baylor team put a lot of pressure on the Blue Devils and created quite a physical game. Duke was able to win the game based on the success of their three point shots and their success at the free-throw line in the final minutes. You can bet on Duke -3 online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to make the games even more exciting.

NCAA Finals Four Odds

Baylor found themselves in foul trouble towards the end of the game, which the Duke team was able to convert. This is ended Baylor’s run for the Final Four 2010. Duke also saw the end of the shooting difficulties of Jon Scheyer, who was only one for eleven in their second round game against California and only had 33% success during the month of March. In yesterday’s game against Baylor, he was able to combine with Smith for 63% of the entire Duke offense. Duke will now prepare to go up against West Virginia in the Final Four game on April 3.

For Baylor University, LaceDarius Dunn had 22 points and Ekpe Udoh had another 18 points. Even though Baylor was winning by a score of 35-32 at halftime, they were not able to keep up the momentum during the second half to keep their Final Four 2010 dreams alive. The 2010 Final Four games that start on April 3 and will also include Michigan State playing Butler at 6:05 pm ET.

MRN Radio Broadcast NASCAR Goody’s 500

On Monday, March 29th the MRN Radio will broadcast the NASCAR Goody’s 500 race. The race is broadcasting live from Martinsville. The Race was suppose to take place yesterday but the rain made NASCAR postpone the Goody’s 500 until today. Here is the link to MRN Radio so you don’t miss any of the NASCAR action.

NASCAR Goody's 500 Odds

The MRN Radio broadcast started at 12 noon ET with lap-by-lap coverage of the NASCAR Goody’s 500 at Martinsville Speedway. You can also just go to NASCAR.com for the radio link so you can tune in to all of the action. MRN stands for the Motor Racing Network and they are the voice of NASCAR.

If you are listening to MRN Radio you would also know that there is a yellow flag out for lap 315 with Marcos Ambrose having a tire go down. Listen to MRN Radio now for the final laps of the 2010 Goody’s 500 NASCAR race.

NCAA Final Four Teams 2010

NCAA Final Four Teams 2010

The Final Four table is set to take place live from Indianapolis on Saturday, April 3rd 2010. The first game will start at 6:05 pm ET between Butler and Michigan State. The Spartans find themselves as a 1 point underdog against Butler. If Butler can continue to play solid defensively they will move on to the the winner of the West Virginia- Duke game in the NCAA Championship.

NCAA Final Four Team Odds

The second NCAA Final Four teams are West Virginia and Duke and they will play each other at 8:45 pm ET Saturday night. Duke is currently favored by 3 points against the Mountaineers. West Virginia is definitely strong enough to pull off the upset so I would grab the points. The posted game total for the West Virginia-Duke game is sitting at 131 points.

The NCAA Final Four Teams 2010 will be preparing for their big game all week. Butler will need to focus on stopping Michigan State from going on big runs. Michigan State happens to be 100% perfect against the spread in their last 4 NCAA Tournament games as an underdog of +0.5 to +6.5 points. The Butler Bulldogs opponents are averaging just 54.2 points per game against them over their last 5 games while shooting just 40.3 % as a team. Looking at the NCAA Final Four Teams 2010 I expect both Final Four games to go down to the wire.

Elite 8 Bracket Update: Road to Final Four 2010

Elite 8 Bracket Update: Road to Final Four 2010

The NCAA tournament is winding down to determine the remaining two teams that will be going to the Final Four 2010. The regional final games that were held yesterday saw number one Kentucky fall to the West Virginia Mountaineers, and number two Kansas State losing to the number five Butler team. These teams were hoping to move on through the Elite Eight bracket, but have found themselves packing to go home instead. You can bet on all of the 2010 Final Four games online at BetUs.com and enjoy 155% in bonuses to make the games even more exciting.

The heavily favored Kentucky team, which was considered by many to make it to the final NCAA championship game, found themselves unable to effectively penetrate the strong West Virginia defense. For West Virginia, this is the first time that the team has made the Final Four 2010 since 1959, when Jerry West led the team. One goal of coach Bob Huggins for this season, was to not only get into the NCAA tournament but also to go all the way to the NCAA Championship game.

The Mountaineers controlled the majority of the game against Kentucky and beat them with a final score of 73-66. West Virginia was without Darryl Bryant, who broke his foot last week and is out for the remainder of the tournament, but this did not seem to affect the team as Joe Mazzulla scored his season high 11 points during the game. The Elite Eight bracket update also includes the fifth seed Butler, beating the second seed Kansas State. Duke and Baylor will be playing on Sunday, as well as Michigan State and Tennessee. By the end of the day, the road to the final four will be set.
