Now that Seneca Wallace will be going to the Cleveland Browns this coming season, the questions surrounding the Browns starting quarterback may have just gotten a little bit murkier. The new general manager for the Cleveland Browns, Mike Holmgren is very familiar with Wallace as he was his former coach. Wallace will be coming from the Seattle Seahawks, which will give the Seahawks an undetermined pick in the 2011 draft. As long as Wallace passes his physical is coming week, he will be most likely be used in a backup position for the Browns.

Seneca Wallace has been with the Seattle Seahawks for seven seasons, and he started in 14 games as their backup quarterback. His stats include 25 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and he completed 333 out of 556 passes. His total passing yardage is 3547 in the backup position for Seattle. He was drafted in 2003 from Iowa State and is one of the shortest quarterbacks currently in the NFL at 5-11. He brings to the Browns some additional versatility as he is also a receiving threat and is able to return the football on special teams.

With the acquisition of Seneca Wallace, the Browns can now give some thought about releasing Derek Anderson before they have to pay him the $2 million bonus that is due by March 19. This does not necessarily mean that Brady Quinn’s future with the team is solidified. Depending on what the Cleveland Browns do over the next several weeks will determine if Quinn will continue to be the teams leading candidate for the starting position. In my opinion Brady Quinn can be successful under center for the Browns but Seneca Wallace will not be.

Chantel Kendall has filed divorce papers against Kansas City star Jason Kendall. The messy divorce proceedings include her making allegations that Jason has used the drug Adderall. Jason Kendall does have a prescription for the medication, which is normally used to treat attention deficit disorder. It has been reported that some major league baseball players use this drug in order to improve their performance. This could be a whole new controversy in regard to players using a variety of drugs to improve their performance.

Chantel Kendall and Jason Kendall were in court on Monday for further divorce proceedings. There have been over 100 players that have requested that they be allowed to use this drug, based on their being diagnosed with ADD. This is beginning to set off some alarms that perhaps players may be using this drug as a performance enhancer. The Royals catcher, and his wife are involved in a very nasty divorce and Monday she tried to prevent Jason from having their children in Kansas City during the baseball season.

Impact of these divorce proceedings may have ramifications all the way throughout Major League Baseball. It may not be very surprising to learn that players are turning to using Adderall as it assists in increasing alertness concentration, as well as libido. Jason’s estranged wife and her allegations have set off some concerns with the allegations that Jason has been abusing the drug. It is certain that officials from the MLB organization are closely watching the divorce proceedings of Chantel Kendall and Jason Kendall.

During the Ben Roethlisberger press conference yesterday, police said that they were going to be interviewing the Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback regarding the allegations of the sexual assault that have been filed by a 20 year old female Georgia student. The police will also be seeking a DNA sample from the two-time Super Bowl winner. The police chief of Milledgeville, Georgia, Woodrow W. Blue, Jr. stated that Roethlisberger and his attorney have been cooperating and that they will be interviewing Ben and seven other witnesses throughout the week.

Once the Ben Roethlisberger press conference was completed, his new high profile attorney, Edward Garland, issued a brief statement saying that there was no criminal activity and that Ben was not involved in a sexual assault. They also believe that after the investigation is completed, that no criminal charges would be filed. The 20-year-old woman who attends Georgia College & State University, filed a report that Roethlisberger had sexually assaulted her early hours of Friday at a nightclub that is located near the campus.

The police are not giving out any details of the interview with the woman but they did state that she has hired an attorney. She was treated at a local hospital but was released. The Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback has a home in the surrounding area that he uses for vacationing. Now that the Ben Roethlisberger press conference is over, it will be days before the police determine if they have enough evidence to charge him. It is also speculated that if they are asking for a DNA sample that it could mean that there is something they can compare it to. His attorney, Edward Garland is not new to high profile cases as he represented Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens, who had been accused of double murder in 2000. More information should become available once all of the interviews are concluded.

In a scene just like right out of Ocean’s 11, the movie with George Clooney, a Poker Tournament robbery occurred in Germany. Currently, the police are looking for a fifth suspect of the gang that tried to pull off the robbery of the $1 million in prize money. The European Poker Tour was holding its competition on Saturday in Germany and had over 1000 players, which also included Boris Becker, the German tennis star. The robbery was believed to be the undertaking of some amateur robbers and most likely had one person inside the hotel, which acted as the spotter.

The Poker Tournament robbery took place just as the money was being transferred from the main fault. Police believe it is also interesting that several of these security guards just happened to be on lunch break at the time of the robbery. At the exact moment of the transfer, the armed robbers, who had guns and machetes, entered the hotel and created mass chaos. Since the tournament was being broadcast, you were able to watch as players dove underneath tables, as well as trying to run for the exits. One security guard did manage to grab one of the bags of cash from the robber.

The Poker Tournament robbery did not prevent from the championship to be completed. Kevin MacPhee, from the United States, won the title as he defeated Ilari Thakokallio from Finland and took home the $1 million prize. Luckily nobody was seriously injured, although seven people had slight injuries. The final 24 players of the tournament were able to resume four hours after the robbery occurred. Police are still looking for the individuals responsible. There were some discrepancies amongst the players as to chip counts, as well as how to restart the event due to the fact that many of the poker tables had been overturned.

Carl Edwards suspended after he had contact with Brad Keselowski during the race in Atlanta. Unfortunately it has taken the focus away from the fact that Kurt Busch won the race, which is his first for the season. The wreck between Keselowski and Edwards has become the focal point of the race. It seems as though Edwards let his frustration get the best of him and caused a potentially devastating wreck that fortunately did not injure the driver.

The Carl Edwards suspended scenario began on lap 39 when there was contact between the two. Keselowski was blamed for the incident, which put Edwards and driver Joey Logano into the wall. Taking a close look at the footage, it may have been Edwards himself that caused that incident. Either way, Edwards felt that Keselowski would not give him any room and felt it was much too early into the race to be that aggressive. Edwards further went on to explain that Brad never gives him any room.

After getting back on the track, Edwards was able to catch up with Brad and clipped him twice and on the third attempt was able to wreck him. Kesleloski became air born and flipped over, and was able to walk away. It is felt that Carl Edwards intentionally did it for revenge. Edwards was not permitted to complete the rest of the race. Many other drivers are not surprised that the incident occurred. It is not the first time that both drivers have been involved in questionable incidents. With having Carl Edwards suspended, perhaps it will send a message to all drivers that retaliation and questionable driving will not be tolerated.

The Lakers now have a record of 46-18 and are looking to keep the momentum of their play into the last 18 games of the season. Vince Carter scored 25 points with 13 of those being free throws. Dwight Howard had 16 rebounds and 15 points to help the Magic get the win. Carter missed his final free throw, which gave the Lakers a chance to win. Kobe Bryant, who scored 34 points failed to get his 20 foot jump shot to go in. With the review of Kobe Bryant’s 3 point shot being reduced to two, almost made the game tied with 12.9 seconds left. The Lakers did play a much more aggressive game, so perhaps the Ron Artest hair style helped just a little bit.

Marc Savard was taken off the ice during the Boston Bruins game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. The Bruin center was hit from behind by Matt Cooke after Savard got rid of the puck. He was hit in the head as he was struck by Cooke’s arm and shoulder. Savard was unconscious for a moment and was taken off of the ice with a head injury.

The Bruins felt that it was a bad hit on Marc Savard and think Cooke, who was not penalized, should have disciplinary action taken against him. Currently, the NHL has not banned the type of hit that occurred; however Boston still feels that Cooke took the hit too far. Cooke believes that he did not do anything wrong and was following through on his check. Penguin player Sidney Crosby said that the league needs to clarify the rules regarding hits and that situations like this have happened too many times.

The Penguins have been 4-0 since the return to play after the Olympics and won the game against the Bruins 2-1. The Bruins were leading 1-0 on Blake Wheeler’s power play goal in the second period. The Penguins tied the game and Evgeni Malkin scored the game winner in the beginning of the third period. Sunday’s loss puts an end to Boston’s away game winning streak of five. The Bruins lost their center Marc Savard who was injured for the remainder 5:37 of the game and Marc Savard is expected to rejoin the team sometime today.
