Reports that the famed Sportscaster George Michael is dead came in Thursday morning December 24th from the Sibley Hospital in D.C. Michael lost the two year battle to cancer but will be remembered in the sports industry for decades to come. “The George Michael’s Sports Machine” was one of the nations biggest sports highlights show and the first of it’s kind. With sports highlights coming in from around the world how could you not like the Sports Machine.
Without “The George Michael Sports Machine” several sports shows like Sportscenter or the Score would likely not be as good. Many people might not have agreed with George Michael but one thing for sure is that he spoke him mind. Michael was a pioneer of the way sports broadcasting is done today and he will be greatly missed by family, friends and colleagues along with the countless followers that he had for “The George Michael Sports Machine”.
George Michael is dead at age 70 after a two year long battle with cancer. Michael was born in St. Louis and also went to school there at the Saint Louis University. Michael later became a rock-n-roll DJ in Philadelphia and then was offered a job in New York. Michael worked for the WRC from 1980 until 2008 when he stepped down to avoid more layoffs at NBC.
