The Cowboys go 6-6 after beating Washington last Thursday 38-14 with Dak Prescott completing 11 of 22 passes for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. They were outgained 280-275 total yards but won the turnover battle 4-0 and had more 1st downs with 21 conversions to the Redskins’ 15. The Giants lost their last game 24-17 to the Raiders and fell to 2-10 with Geno Smith starting the game instead of Eli Manning. Smith made 21 of 34 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown while Orleans Darkwa led their ground-game with 14 rushes for 32 yards and a score and Evan Engram led their receivers with 7 receptions for 99 yards and the touchdown pass from Smith.
Our Free NFL Pick: The Cowboys finally got their first victory since Ezekiel Elliott was suspended, partly thanks to Prescott’s performance. He did suffer a bruised left-hand in that Thursday game is set to being questionable but is likely to make an appearance here as he doesn’t believe it will affect his performance. Sean Lee, on the other hand, will definitely be out for this game with a hamstring injury and despite Justin Durant was prepping himself to fill-in for Lee should anything happen, he’s also not expected to appear either. Following the benching of Manning, head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese were fired on Monday and with Manning set to leave next season, their future looks quite murky. For now, at least, they’ll be coming into this game in a similar position to that of the Cowboys although it’s certain Manning will be starting this time – and with a proper left hand. With Jonathan Casillas not expected to make an appearance and B.J. Goodson questionable, the Giants’ defense seems to be in a dire position. That being said, I’d put my money on the Cowboys to cover that spread against such a defense; even without Elliott.
