The Jets are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. AFC, 5-1 in their last 6 Week 14 games, 4-1-1 in their last 6 games following an ATS win, 12-4-2 in their last 18 December games, 7-2-1 in their last 10 overall games, and 1-4-1 in their last 6 road games. Their O/U trends are 5-1 in their last 6 games overall, 0-4 in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing record, 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win and in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, and 4-11-2 in their last 17 Week 14 games. They also stand 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings with the Broncos.
The Broncos are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 overall games and vs. AFC, 2-7 in their last 9 Week 14 games, 0-7 in their last 7 games following a loss and an ATS loss, and 0-4 in their last 4 December games. Their O/U trends are 1-5 in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing record and in their last 6 Week 14 games, 5-11 in their last 16 December games, and 9-4 in their last 13 games after allowing more than 30 points in the previous game. The two also share an O/U trend of 1-5 in their last 6 meetings when Denver is playing at home.
The Jets improve to 5-7 after beating the Kansas City Chiefs 38-31 last Sunday with Josh McCown going 26-36 for 331 yards and a touchdown. They narrowly outgained the Chiefs 474-488 total yards, dominated possession time with 42:49 on the clock, and earned more 1st downs with 30 conversions to the Chiefs’ 17. On the other side, Denver’s losing streak continues as they lose 35-9 to the Dolphins and fall to 3-9 with Trevor Siemian completing 19 of 41 throws for 200 yards and 3 picks. They were outgained 270-367 total yards, had less possession time on the clock with only 25:38, and converted less 1st downs with 14 to the Dolphins’ 15.
Our Free NFL Pick: Denver is in a horrible spot now and Siemian’s performance was the worse for QBs last week with less than 50% completion and 3 interceptions in that game. The defense is also falling apart as well, letting the lowest scoring team; the Dolphins, have a blowout victory of 35 points over them. On the other side, the Jets victory over the Chiefs was a big one considering Smith seemed to be getting back in his groove despite Kansas City’s issues on the offense with penalties. Also considering the Denver’s’ issues, I say the Jets are poised to take a win here as well. Afterall; if the Dolphins can score more than 20 points against Denver while having one of the lowest scoring offenses, why can’t the Jets? I’d take the Jets to cover.
