Baltimore goes 7-5 after beating Detriot 44-20 last Sunday with Joe Flacco completing 23 of 36 throws for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns. They were narrowly outgained 372-370 total yards but won the turnover battle 3-0 and had more 1st downs with 24 conversions to the Lions’ 18. The Steelers improve to 10-2 after beating the Bengals in a brutal game last Monday 23-20. Ben Roethlisberger completed 24 of 40 passes for 290 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a pick with Le’Veon Bell leading the ground-game with 18 rushes and 76 yards and the receivers with 5 catches for 106 yards and a score.
Our Free NFL Pick: After the brutal game that was Monday night’s face-off with the Bengals, the Steelers are walking away with some injuries and suspensions all-around. JuJu Smith-Schuster has been suspended from this game after an illegal tackle and unsportsmanlike conduct while LB Ryan Shazier is doubtful to make an appearance after suffering a back injury. TE Vance McDonald is also not likely to play with an ankle injury following the Bengal game which leaves their offense and defense in a bit of a mess. The Ravens are fairing better for injuries although RB Alex Collins is questionable with migraines and CB Jimmy Smith has been placed on IR following an Achilles heel injury. Personally, I think the Steelers are in a really tight situation with their defense signal caller being out for this game. Sure, Smith-Schuster and McDonald being out as well will be another blow to them; no doubt, but Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell are both capable of scoring the points and Roethlisberger is known for his 4th quarter comeback victories. The main question is if the Ravens’ offense can take advantage of the missing Shazier on the Steelers’ defense and if their own defense can stand up to the Steelers offense. I personally, don’t think the latter is likely, so I’d take the Steelers.
