Alabama won the Allstate Sugar Bowl last Monday against Clemson 24-6 to move on into the finals with Jalen Hurts going 16-24 for 120 yards and 2 scores. Damien Harris led the ground with 19 carries for 77 yards and Calvin Ridley was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. On the other side, Georgia won the Rose Bowl against Oklahoma in an exciting game that ended 54-48 in double overtime! Jake Fromm completed 20 of 29 passes for 210 yards and 2 scores but Sony Michel was the star with 11 carries for 181 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns while Javon Wims led the receivers with 6 receptions for 73 yards and a score.
Our CFP National Championship Bowl Prediction: I have to say, Alabama surprised last Monday. Kelly Bryant is still the better QB between him and Hurts but the Crimson Tide’s defense was simply dominating in that game. Clemson’s defense also did a good job as well but Alabama’s was simply better and managed to cinch two scores seconds apart. Georgia’s defense on the other hand had a really tough start in the first half but came alive in the second half; along with Michel making it quite the explosive bowl. Coming into this game, especially after last Monday’s performance, I’d say the edge lies with Georgia. Their offense definitely stepped up in that game and while Alabama’s defense is definitely tougher than Oklahoma’s, I’m willing to bet Nick Chubb and Michel can find a way through it anyhow. Their defense is nothing to scoff against either and Jalen Hurts is no Baker Mayfield. I say take Georgia.
